Rock Climbing:

Sawtooths*
One hour north of Ketchum lies Sawtooth National Forest and home to one of the best-kept secrets in the climbing world. Most notably, the Elephants Perch, an 1100' granite buttress with a variety of trad and aid routes. The Finger of Fate, a granite spire with a beautiful dihedral is another that never ceases to muster a smile. Towering 800' above the valley floor, the top of this spire provides a wonderful view of the surrounding peaks. More remote is the Baron Lakes area with Warbonnet peak and Baron spire looming above. Multi-day trips into this area using pack trains are a great experience. Enjoy the convenience of car camping in the beauty of the Sawtooths. A great place to bring the whole family for a vacation.

North Cascades**
Located just a few hours outside Seattle, the Cascades are home to some of the most accessible alpine climbing in the Lower 48 states. Starting with classic climbs at Washington Pass, dozens of multi-pitch adventures with the European ambiance of returning to your hotel the same day await you. For a more rugged alpine experience, you can hike in to climb such peaks as Forbidden, Mt. Triumph, Dorado Needle and many more with glacier crossings to access these incredible rock climbs.

Squamish, British Columbia**
The Yosemite of the Pacific Northwest, home to some the highest quality granite in North America. Situated only an hour from Vancouver, The Chief rises 2200' above Howe Sound and offers numerous cracks, slabs and sport climbs of all grades and lengths. With amazing mountain biking, hiking, sailing and mountaineering nearby it is a great family vacation.

Red Rocks, Nevada**
Right next to glitzy Las Vegas lies one the most incredible climbing areas in the US. Red Rocks Canyon is home to thousands of routes ranging from 1 to 18 pitches on perfect southwest desert sandstone. A perfect spring or fall climbing adventure where you can climb in a t-shirt all day then hit the Strip.

France - Provence
Springtime in Provence is one of favorites. For many years we have been a pilgrimage to this extraordinary region of France. Limestone sport climbing here is some of the best in the world with too many sites to even think about. Climbing is not the only reason we have come to love this area. The warm dry climate and outdoor markets of this region are famous. The culture here dates back thousands of years to the time of the Romans. Another famous attraction is the Cote du Rhone appellation wineries. We routinely travel through the remote countryside stopping at small vintors to buy premium wines at ridiculously low prices. One of our favorite places to stay is actually at an 11th century chateau winery where you gaze down upon the perfectly tended vines from the terrace or swimming pool.

France - La Grave
During the spring and summer and early fall, La grave is exceptional for both sport and multi-pitch routes. Many times in the spring we take a ski tour in the morning and rock climb in the afternoon. The warmth of the sun on the southern exposures makes it possible to climb even on cool days. Both limestone and granite are indigenous to this region.

Sun Valley - City of the Rocks
Rising out of the desert of Southern Idaho lies an oasis with tremendous granite sport and trad climbing. Over 1200 routes have been recorded in this climber's dreamland.* Great camping and hiking with easy access to climbing makes this a must for all climbers.
