Click here for pricing Thanks for your interest in joining us in a South American skiing experience. Once again we are offering a very exciting trip to Las Lenas, Argentina. Las Lenas, located in a remote region of the Argentinean Andes, is a dream come true for the serious skier. There are limitless possibilities of unspoiled couloirs and bowls to explore and challenge your abilities on steep terrain. It is here that most of the world's extreme ski competitors come to train during the summer months. Annually, Las Lenas hosts the South American Freestyle ski competition. Powder is something of a rarity but we have had some excellent days of fluff. What you will most likely encounter is some of the best wind blown pack I have ever skied. Long couloirs, (2500 to 4000 vertical feet) with perfect carvable "Styrofoam" and great corn snow on the northern exposures. Most of our off-piste skiing will be lift served but there are many excellent peaks that will beckon us to climb to higher altitudes. The topography is quite unique, once you have reached the top via chairlift; you will be on a huge windswept butte resembling a lunar landscape. While making our traverse/hike across to our descent route, it is possible to find seashell fossils at 10,000' elevation. There will commonly be a short 20- 45-minute climb each day to access some incredible terrain and there are also some all day tours into more remote areas for those who are interested. Our tours to Las Lenas are not for everyone; you must be an excellent skier who enjoys steep terrain that can sometimes be exposed and dangerous. However, there are alternatives for those who do not want to ski the gnarliest terrain, you can ski unguided down the marked piste, while the rest of the group skis that one run and we will rendezvous at a prescribed meeting place. Although the average temperature is fairly comfortable, the Andes are famous for high winds, so be prepared mentally and make sure you have the right clothing. Las Lenas is a very secluded self contained resort 1 + hours from Malargue and there are few attractions other than the great skiing. For this reason, we choose to stay at the Piscis Hotel, a five star hotel offering the best accommodations, dining and amenities available: casino, indoor/ outdoor pool, sauna, jacuzzi, and fitness room with daily programs. You will also enjoy the luxury of ski consignee who will carry your skis back to the hotel after skiing so you are free to enjoy aprés' ski without lugging your skis around with you. Of course you can also ski right to the door at the Piscis and someone will be there to take your skis back to the storage locker and place your boots on the heated boot dryer. Dining is exceptional at the Piscis; there are two restaurants to choose from with a full menu to please everyone. Each morning, after a yoga/stretching routine, which I personally instruct, you can gorge yourself to your heart's content at a full American breakfast buffet.
